Status: currently under constructionĢ) Excavating and outfitting a Sand collection area on level 1 (the only place we have sand). We have a tremendous and confusing number of projects all pending or underway at the same time:ġ) Excavating a Magma Forge area down at the bottom of the world (about level 125 down). We still have no weapons for the weapon traps (and fuel for the forges is a serious issue), and our excavation of the pit has only gone down four levels about one-fifth of the intended depth. The outer side is untrapped, because Merchants (and their wagons) will refuse to cross a field of traps, so our positional defenses must be set up inboard of the Trade Depot. Our Trade Depot has been moved to the eastern wall, and is surrounded (on the inner side) by a spiral of walls and traps. The four hatches on the roof are controlled by a Lever in our Control Room, so they cannot be opened from the outside (except, of course, by creatures with the 'Building Destroyer' tag, like Dragons or Demons). Note that our Keep (directly on top of the entrance to the tunnels) has been built up into a three-level Marksdwarf's Tower with a drawbridge, sheer walls leading up to an overhang (to stop climbers from reaching the roof) and surrounded by arrow-slits on all four sides.
